What the computer Motherboard does?
A motherboard is the underlying circuit board of a computer. The central processing unit (CPU), Random Access Memory (RAM), hard drive(s), disk drives and optical drives are all plugged into interfaces on the motherboard. A video interface and sound card can be optionally built-in or added. simply put its is similar to a body’s nerve system, it brings everything together.
What are the symptoms of a faulty board?
Your computer may beep as it starts.
The computer will start up for a few seconds before turning off, this probably means you have a short on the board.
Faults can be intermittent at first with errors such as shutting off, blue screening (BSOD)
It may feel like it takes an age to eventually read a few emails.
Your monitor may say no signal.
You might see that there is no power to the mouse, keyboard or other peripherals dependant ion USB or PS2 connections.
Causes?
Many are damaged from liquid ingress, vibration and shock damage and overheating. they can also go through under and over voltage from faulty power supplies. Fans getting blocked can also cause long term damage.
How long will the replacement or repair take?
Diagnosis is normally done on the same day depending on when you book your repair and when its collected. The required repair is done once any needed parts arrive at the workshop.
