What the keyboard does?

A keyboard is an input device, partially modelled after the typewriter keyboard. It uses an arrangement of buttons or keys, to act as electronic switches. The keyboard remains the most commonly used and most versatile device used for direct input into computers. Each press of a key typically corresponds to a single written symbol, some symbols require pressing and holding several keys simultaneously or in sequence, these will also produce actions or computer commands.

Symptoms?

The fault can be intermittent at times with sections or sides of the keyboard not responding.

The whole keyboard can stop working.

Causes?

Most damaged keyboards have had a liquid of some sort split on them. Old laptops can have a big build up of crumbs and grime under the keys, this often stops one or more keys from working. Individual keys can just fall off with age, or often as people try to clean the keyboard.

How long will the replacement or repair take?

We will probably have to order a replacement in. These are on a 1-3 delivery, we will normally tell you when we give you a quote or at the time of the repair booking. Your laptop will be returned back to you on the same day as delivery.
